The Houston Rockets defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Austin Texas as V. Wembanyama (25pts,13rebs,2blks) was blocked by A. Thompson (20pts,10rebs,2blks) at the end of regulation, in a game where the Spurs still looked slow and unfocused. The three guard lineup of D. Harper (20pts) D. Fox (19pts,9ast) and S. Castle (15pts,7rebs,5ast) took time to get going, leaving Houston leading for most of the game. Anytime a team has to learn how to play with each other at any point in the season, slow starts are inevitable! If Wemby had just turned and dunked the ball, this game would have went to overtime. I guess even tall people sometimes forget they are tall. The lineup change will take time to gain momentum, and for the starters to get chemistry playing with each other. Hopefully this happens sooner rather than later as San Antonio is already 0-2 and looking up at other teams in the West! K. Durant (20pts) had a good game and A. Sengun (29pts,7rebs,7ast) was a thorn in the Spurs side all night. Coach Johnson needs to stop overthinking his rotations and his matchups. Two games in and he does not seem comfortable in his decision making. The Spurs will have chances to make up bad losses, but so far they will look more like a work in progress as this season progresses!
