The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks 122 to 106 in a game where the Spurs played better defense in the second half, against a shorthanded Mavericks team! V. Wembanyama (23pts,7reb,4blks) was finding his game against Dallas. He is still not shooting from the three point line very well, but he is still defending the paint and has started to roll more to the basket! The guards have done better the past two games of finding him and setting him up. D. Fox (19pts,9ast) D. Harper (22pts,5rebs) and S. Castle (19pts,8ast) all took turns getting Wemby some easy buckets. The three point guard lineup has its flaws, but when the Spurs play solid defense and get the rebound off a missed shot, it is off to the races for this team! That is why they need to play better defense, not only to get stops, but to also push the pace and get into attack mode! T. Reed Jr. (2pts,3rebs) got some minutes in the game as L. Kornet (0pts,4rebs) was ineffective all night! On nights that Kornet struggles, Coach Johnson needs to go with youth and try and get a spark! K. Johnson (7pts,6rebs) and J. Champagnie (12pts,5rebs) helped keep a weak bench unit from not showing up, and also made solid contributions in a Spurs win! 1-2 is better than 0-3, but it will be a long process for these Spurs to get back to contending and firing on all cylinders!
