The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 116 to 104 in a contest the Spurs wish was game 6 of the NBA Finals and not game 1 of the NBA season! OKC was solid from the jump and was on attack mode all game. San Antonio played with very little interest. My BBQ before the game would have been more interesting than the intensity of the Spurs. It was as if the Spurs already know they can compete with OKC and just played without the necessary assertiveness needed to beat a full healthy OKC! Answers will be on full display as this season goes on as MVP candidate V. Wembanyama (12pts on 1 for 13) 13rebs and 6blks was off all game! Wemby was not assertive and his guards did not help him get the shots he needed to succeed. The tro of D. Fox (14pts,7rebs,7ast) S. Castle (24pts,7rebs) and D. Harper (18pts,7rebs,5rebs) all had glances and flashes, but none got Wemby involved and in turn, got themselves easy shots. The Spurs bench played small and are stilll needing something to truly compete with the best teams in the NBA! Game 1 down, 81 more to go!
