  • Spurs push back against Piston in Palace and extend win streak to 9!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Detroit Pistons 114 to 103 in a hard fought game where both teams played solid tough basketball but the Spurs pushed back and extended their win streak to 9 games! V. Wembanyama (21pts,17rebs,6blks) was the anchor for the Spurs on both ends of the court! He gives the defense an identity and cleans up any missed rotations by the Spurs guards. S. Castle (16pts,11ast) was awesome on defense while guarding the best player on the Pistons. He also gives the Spurs a swagger on the defensive side by playing physical and tough and not backing down from anyone in the NBA! J. Champagnie (17pts) and D. Vassell (28pts) were spot on with their shots and played solid defense against the Pistons. When both are hitting their shots the Spurs are tough to beat! D. Fox (10pts,7rebs,7ast) had an off night offensively but was contributing in other ways and showcasing great leadership for a young Spurs team that needs a solid veteran presence! This win was more than just a plus in the standings. The Spurs showed they can beat a tough physical team and are willing and capable of going deep in the NBA playoffs!

    Pistons: J. Duren (25pts,14rebs) is a solid NBA big and a reason the Pistons have one of the best records in the NBA! He played solid and never backed down! C. Cunningham (16pts,10ast) was 5-26 from the field thanks to a large part in S. Castle hounding him all game. He will have better games but the All-NBA guard had trouble getting free from a Spurs defense that was looked on him from the jump! Look for the Pistons to make some noise in the post season and maybe even make a run at the finals!

  • Spurs Kings of the Castle against Kings!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Sacramento Kings 139 to 122 extending their win streak to 8 games. V. Wembanyama (28pts,15rebs,6ast,4blks) lead the charge and was impactful right from the jump. D. Fox (18pts,5ast) and S. Castle (18pts,8rebs) controlled the back court and pace against the Kings. H. Barnes (14pts), D. Harper (12pts) and K. Johnson (18pts) each had moments that helped turn the game into a blowout in the fourth quarter! When the Spurs bench unit and the starters are pushing the pace and punishing teams on both ends of the ball, the Spurs are one of the best teams in the NBA!

    Kings: The Sacramento Kings look like they were motivated to get a win through 3 quarters of this game, but in the fourth quarter the Spurs turned the tide and all hope was lost! K. Murray (20pts) and M. Raynaud (16pts) are building blocks for the future. D. DeRozan (20pts) and other older vets will need to be traded or released this season so the Kings can actually do a rebuild from the bottom up. Hopefully they do what is necessary for their fans and city!

  • Spurs 7 game win streak against Suns Steady!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns 121 to 94 as the Spurs win streak gets to 7. V. Wembanyama (17pts,11ast,5rebs) was stellar against the Suns as he held down both sides of the ball. S. Caslte (20pts) and D. Fox (15pts,8ast) paced the offense by pushing the ball at every opportunity! D. Vassell (12pts) and D. Harper (17pts) also joined in on the fun and kept attacking throughout the game. When the Spurs are swarming on defense and pushing the tempo on offense, they are hard to beat! L. Kornet (10pts,9rebs) was steady off the bench and looked solid on both ends of the ball.

    Suns: D. Booker only played 9 mins, and D. Brooks was suspended, so the win will only be looked as a wash, as both players were out. The Suns have a deep team and play solid on both ends, so look for this team to a tough out in any playoff series they are involved in!

  • Spurs finish strong against Warriors despite being down early!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Golden State Warriors 126 to 113 despite being down through the first three quarters of the game! V. Wembanyama (26pts,9rebs,2blks) and D. Fox (27pts,8ast,3stls) lead the way against the depleted Warriors. The Warriors lead through the first three quarters and seemed to be a quarter away from victory, but San Antonio made a run with K. Johnson (21pts,6rebs) and H. Barnes (10pts) helping get momentum back for the Spurs. D. Haper (14pts,5rebs) was also critical for the Spurs pushing the pace and controlling tempo! The defense for the Spurs really stepped up in the second half and swarmed the Warriors into mistakes and bad shots! Now is the break for the All-Star game and V. Wembanyama will represent San Antonio as a starter and future cornerstone of the franchise!

    Warriors: Golden State was without S. Curry and K. Porzingus, but D. Green (17pts) was up to his usual school yard play and helped keep the Warriors close. It will be interesting to see what kind of team the Warriors turn into down the stretch, but getting players back healthy is key!

  • Spurs beat up on Lebron-less Lakers as WeM-VP drops 40!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 136 to 108 in an easy victory against the Lebron-less Lakers! WeM-VP torched the Lakers with 40 points, (25 in the first quarter) to help lead the Spurs to victory. C. Bryant (16pts) and D. Harper (15pts) each had good moments with-in the game to show off just why each was a lottery pick in last years past draft! The Spurs are on a 5 game win streak and are looking good going into the All-Star break! The team is playing more up tempo and swarming defense that has lead to this good run! S. Castle took a hard fall during the game and left with a hip contusion. He should be alright going forward but will more than likely miss a game!

    Lakers: No Lebron, No Luka, No Reeves and no hope for a Lakers team that had even their own fans complaining about paying good money to watch their team play without their stars! From the jump this team had no chance and V. Wembanyama took over in the first quarter to seal the deal!

  • Spurs top Mavs as The Castle in the Sky Shines Bright!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks for the third time this season 138 to 125 in an easy victory as S. Castle shines with a 40 point triple double! The only other player to do that in Spurs history was D. Robinson in 1993! V. Wembanyama (16pts,11rebs,3blks) and D. Fox (15pts,5ast) were steady for the Spurs throughout the game. D. Vassell (17pts) also found his rhythm and was a consistent threat from deep and the midrange. Both rookies looked good in this game as C. Bryant (11pts) and D. Harper (11pts) played solid. The Spurs bench unit was consistent in this victory totaling 39 points and helped the Spurs pull away at the end of the first half!

    Dallas: C. Flagg (14pts) played well, but the Spurs had a better game plan for the outstanding rookie! Dallas was done and knew victory was out of reach by the end of the second quarter going into halftime.

  • Spurs beat Mavs as Wemby and Flagg battle back and forth!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Dallas Mavericks 135 to 123 as V. Wembanyama (29pts,11rebs,6ast,3blks) battled with C. Flagg (32pts) in a close game throughout! D. Fox(17pts,7rebs) and D. Vassell (12pts,7rebs) helped pace the Spurs to victory and both guards had a bounce back game. S. Castle (18pts,7rebs,6ast) and K. Johnson (12pts,6ast) maintained focus off the bench and continued the solid attack! J. Champagnie (14pts) and H. Barnes (19pts) were 9-19 from deep and played solid defense. D. Harper (9pts) played well with limited minutes after coming back from a night off. No players for the Spurs were traded at the deadline and that seemed to help ignite this team to focus on the task at hand and keep the pressure on the young Mavs!

    Mav: C. Flagg is gonna be a problem for the NBA sooner rather than later! He plays point forward and is learning the game at an incredible rate! D. Marshall (32pts) played Robin the Flagg’s Batman, but it wasn’t enough to get the victory as the Spurs were too much down the stretch! The Mavs moved on from A. Davis and will look totally different going into next season.

  • Thunder throw in towel early against Spurs despite good showing by bench!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 116 to 106 in a snooze fest type of game in which the Thunder sat 7 key rotation players dealing with, ‘Injuries.” V. Wembanyama (22pts,14rebs,2blks) played a good game and was one of a few Spurs to show up and play up to task! K. Johnson (25pts,6rebs) was amazing off the Spurs bench and showcased why he deserves votes as the NBA’s sixth man of the year! D. Fox (15pts,10ast) and S. Castle (14pts) finally played up to task in the fourth quarter. For most of the game both guards were playing down to the competition. D. Vassell (5pts) in 25 mins of action was subpar to be nice. The $25 million a year combo guard could not buy a bucket and played horrible defense against the Thunder. It will take him some time to get his groove back but between him and H. Barnes (9pts) the Spurs need points and, “Ganas” from both players!

    Thunder: OKC played well for being short handed but they never were a threat to beat the Spurs at all in this game. A. Wiggins (20pts) and J. Williams (24pts) had solid games, but the Thunder wanted them to get some confidence against the Spurs. The Thunder accentually threw in the towel and are waiting for the playoffs. I guarantee the Thunder won’t be fined for sitting out 7 key players!!!

  • Wemby Wows Magic with magical game!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Orlando Magic 112 to 103 in a game that was delayed because of the snow storm in Charlotte! V. Wembanyama (28pts,8rebs,5blks) was special down the stretch in this game! Especially after taking an elbow From D. Bane in the third quarter with 1:47 left! D. Fox (14pts,10ast) and D. Vassell (16pts) lead the attack against the Magic from the jump. D. Harper (15pts) and K. Johnson (14pts,10rebs) were solid contributors off the bench! The Spurs were excellent after halftime and got even more focused after the cheap shot to their star!

    Magic: There is no doubt the Orlando Magic will be a good competitive team in the near future. Players like P. Banchero (19pts) and D. Bane (25pts) will help this team grow and make a run! The key to this team is growth and also maturity! D. Bane taking a cheap shot at Wemby in the third quarter got the Spurs focused and more than likely could have costed the Magic this game!

  • Spurs loose to bugs in early blizzard game!

    Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs lost to the Charlotte Hornets 111 to 106 in an early game during a rare snow storm in Charlotte. Bad decisions down the stretch and bad execution cost the Spurs this game. V. Wembanyama (16pts) and D. Fox (11pts) had a cold shooting game that was as cold as the snow outside of the arena! D. Harper (20pts) was a lone bright spot for the Spurs in that he was ready to play from the opening tip! Hopefully the Spurs can rebound as tomorrow they play another young good team in the Orlando Magic!

    Hornets: B. Miller (26pts) caught fire from the second quarter on and was hard to stop down the stretch. L. Ball (16pts) had a decent game and keep the pressure on the Spurs the entire game! C. Sexton (21pts) contributed off the bench and really helped keep the lead after the Hornets made a push in the second quarter. This team is 11-6 in their last 17 games and seem to be figuring things out before the All-star break!
