Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs lost Game 1 to the New York Knicks 105 to 95 in a game where the Spurs stars struggled. V. Wembanyama (26pts,12rebs,3blks) was off most of the night. He shot 12-13 at the free throw line and had 6 turnovers. Not the start the Spurs wanted, but it is Game 1 of what is expected to be a long series. D. Fox (7pts,5ast) also struggled with his shot and decision making. He is supposed to be the second best player on the Spurs and has yet to deliver! S. Castle (17pts,8rebs) and D. Harper (16pts,8rebs) both played as well as can be expected for a rookie and second year player. Hopefully Harper gets more minutes in the fourth quarter as he only played 3 the entire quarter. Castle also has to hit a few more threes to keep the Knicks closer to him so they cannot clog up the lane. J. Champagnie (16pts) was on fire to start the game, but he leveled off and didn’t make the adjustment to attack off the dribble more. The other Spurs role players have to be better. The bench unit was horrible again besides Harper. This is only Game 1 so adjustments will be made and the Spurs stars will play better! Game 2 should show just who the Spurs are as a team and what they are made of!

Knicks: The Knicks are gonna make this a difficult series. They are a good team and can legitimately win the Championship. J. Brunson (30pts) was unstoppable in fourth quarter. He put his team on his back and lead the Knicks to a Game 1 victory. KAT (18pts,12rebs) was the better big man this game. He was decisive and attacked all game. Wemby will have to go at him if the Spurs are to tie this series. OG. Anunoby (17pts) started to hear up in the third quarter. The Spurs have to do a better job with rebounding as he and Hart had 18 rebounds between them. The Knicks did what a good team does, win one on the road! Now it is up to the Spurs to counter punch!
