San Antonio Spurs

Brandon Lucero here, Journalist and Photographer dedicated to covering the San Antonio Spurs. I served onboard the USS San Antonio while in the United States Navy! I utilized my GI Bill and went to college where I received my Associates and Bachelors degrees in Journalism and Photography!

Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the New York Knicks 115 to 111 in a game where V. Wembanyama (32pts,8rebs,6ast,3blks) showed Spursnation as well as the world just who he is! Many in the NBA and sports talk concluded that the Spurs were dead and would get swept! The Alien πŸ‘½ showed just why the NBA Finals are a 7 game series! Wemby was calm, and easily the best player on the court! He was aggressive early and his team fed off his strong play! S. Castle (23pts,5rebs,5ast) also played up to task and continues to show why he is one of the best two way guards in the league! His dagger three gave the Spurs some breathing room when New York was making a run. D. Fox (12pts,8ast,1stl,2blks) hit a clutch shot down the stretch to help ice the game. He was 1-8 from deep, but made smart decisions and kept believing in himself! Speaking of believing in oneself, D. Harper (13pts,9rebs,4ast) has been the most consistent Spur in these Finals! It should be at no surprise as his dad is five time NBA Champion, Ron Harper! Young Harper will most definitely be a star in this league for many years! No Knick can guard him, and his defense on Brunson has been special! D. Vassell (11pts) and J. Champagnie (12pts) were big in getting this win as well. They hit timely shots and spread the floor, so the slashing point guard trio could have space to operate. K. Johnson (7pts) was a plus 14, and the Spurs bench finally outscored the Knicks bench 25 to 20. The Spurs also capitalized getting points off of turnovers (POT) 21-7 and out assisted the Knicks 28 to 18. One more win will put so much more pressure on the Knicks than they already have! One more win will demonstrate just who these Spurs are! One more win will show the world that Aliens πŸ‘½ exist, and that this series is far from over!

Knicks: Pressure makes diamonds, and makes and breaks great players and teams. The Knicks were definitely feeling the pressure from the start of this game, but the Knicks fought back and even took momentum into halftime. J. Brunson (32pts,5rebs,5ast) was doing his best to get New York closer to a ring. He scored, assisted, rebounded and flopped as much as possible, but it wasn’t enough! OG. Anunoby (28pts,5rebs) and J. Hart (16pts,9rebs,5ast) helped keep the Knicks close and played above their roles. KAT (11rebs,8rebs) was on the other end of some solid Wemby and Castle finishes. He was barking all night, but some how forgot his nickname is big Purr! He played more like a tiger in games 1 and 2, but this game his kitty cat claws did not bother The Alien πŸ‘½! If the Spurs win game 4 the entire city of New York will look something like a batman movie! Chaos could erupt as well as momentum going back in San Antonio’s direction! Pressure can break people, burst pipes and crush dreams! Maybe we have a series after all!
