San Antonio Spurs

Brandon Lucero here, Journalist and Photographer dedicated to covering the San Antonio Spurs. I served onboard the USS San Antonio while in the United States Navy! I utilized my GI Bill and went to college where I received my Associates and Bachelors degrees in Journalism and Photography!

Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs beat the L.A Clippers 116 to 112 in a hard fought 25 point comeback that is one of the biggest comebacks in the past 25 years! V. Wembanyama (27pts,10rebs,4blks) and D. Fox (19pts,9ast) helped keep the Spurs in the game and helped close out the Clippers! The comeback started in the third quarter with J. Champagnie (20pts,10rebs) and C. Bryant (5pts,2stl,1blk) playing solid defense and hitting timely shots. Champagnie had 17pts in the third quarter and his defense and hustle along with Bryant chipped away at the Clippers lead. The energy was contagious and the rest of the team showed why San Antonio is known for, “Never Retreat, Never Surrender!” The Alamo was legendary for that statement many years ago, as well as this Spurs team last night against the Clippers!

Clippers: K. Leonard (30pts) was a thorn in the Spurs side all night. The former Spur and enemy #1 to many Spurs fans was booed everytime he touched the ball. Some pundits and critics want the Spurs fans to forgive him, but they will never forget what he did to their beloved franchise! He was a great player for the Spurs and helped them get over the top and beat the Heat in the finals in 2014. For that I will always have respect for Leonard, but just like other Spurs fans I will never respect what he did to get out of San Antonio and what he did to damage the Spurs reputation. The Spurs ended up moving on and have a franchise player that is so much better as a person and has the potential to be one of the best ever! Character is always more important than reputation! Something Mr. Leonard and his uncle will never understand!
