San Antonio Spurs

Brandon Lucero here, Journalist and Photographer dedicated to covering the San Antonio Spurs. I served onboard the USS San Antonio while in the United States Navy! I utilized my GI Bill and went to college where I received my Associates and Bachelors degrees in Journalism and Photography!

Spurs: The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Detroit Pistons at home 121 to 106 in a physical game that could be a finals preview! V. Wembanyama (38pts,16rebs,5blks) was amazing for the Spurs! He set the tone right from the jump and was a force on both ends of the court! Speaking of setting the tone, D. Fox (29pts,5rebs,3ast) did just that right from the opening tip! The All-Star guard was focused and settled in his offensive game early. S. Castle (11pts,12ast,2stl) was also impactful by getting the team going on offense but also playing solid defense on the Pistons best player! J. Champagnie (16pts) made very sound decisions with the ball and has played well for the Spurs this season. The Pistons were physical with the Spurs early and often, but the Spurs stayed focused on playing their brand of basketball as well as playing solid defense and making smart decisions!

Pistons: C. Cunningham (26pts) worked extremely hard for every point and was the focus of the Spurs defense. J. Duren only had 7points in 12 mins because of foul trouble and the fact that he was more worried about playing physical against Wemby. If he settles in on just playing from within the Pistions could make a deep run in the East!
